About The Position

The company is seeking a talented Field Service Technician, II responsible for supporting customers both on and off-site. This role involves working with control software for customer test requests, performing test equipment calibrations, troubleshooting test cell equipment, and maintaining customer test equipment, including both Link systems and competitor equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience commissioning and repairing industrial machines.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Hands-on problem solving and continuous improvement support.
  • Strong Customer Interaction Skills with the ability to work well in a Team.
  • Ability to interpret Electrical schematic and Mechanical prints.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to include, electrical noise, component issues, mechanical issues, fluid power issues.
  • Strong Drive/Inverter knowledge to include failures and faults, troubleshoot and repair, removal and installation.
  • Knowledge and awareness of Drives / Inverters (examples, Unico, ABB, Rockwell, GE, Allen Bradly).
  • Ability to troubleshoot down to the board level to include pinpointing board failures, board repairs, etc. if needed.
  • High attention to detail for Customer satisfaction.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Drivers License with an acceptable driver’s license and passport.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to walk.
  • Ability to speak verbally and read in English.
  • Ability to see with corrective lenses.
  • Ability to hear.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Able to work overtime, evenings and/or weekends as required.
  • Ability to travel locally 75% (within 50 miles of a LINK facility) and up to 25% in the US and Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2-year degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field checkout and start-up of industrial test stand and dynamometer upgrades.
  • Drive resolution and solutions to complex diagnostics and servicing tasks with minimal supervision, including work on non-Link equipment.
  • Complete functional checkout workbook and performance verification of equipment.
  • Inspect & test all machine subsystems.
  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
  • Perform equipment calibration to ISO 17025 standards.
  • Complete service reports, calibration, and maintenance reports as necessary.
  • Perform analysis and create solutions to repair customer issues.
  • Perform maintenance and calibration of testing equipment.
  • Assist customers and provide suggestions on sound and acceptable practices for maintaining their equipment.
  • Maintain consistent and proactive communication with customers about repairs, equipment, delays, or obstacles.
  • Create and implement preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Conduct training for customers on the use of new and used equipment.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints professionally and promptly, instilling confidence in the willingness and ability to resolve an issue.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Company Policies and Safety Standards, performing work in a safe manner using all available safety equipment.
  • Perform both minor upgrades and large-scale installations, reviewing upgrade or installation plans to accurately determine necessary parts and materials.
  • All other related duties as assigned.
