About The Position

The Field Service Technician II - Marine Diesel is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires the technician to wear proper personal protective equipment, attend and successfully complete required training, and maintain a necessary set of tools for diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components to manufacturer's specifications. The technician will diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. They are expected to work in a neat and orderly fashion, continuously seeking improvements in work methods, work areas, and safety standards. The role involves inspecting components to maximize parts reuse for cost control, completing required documentation using appropriate software to detail repairs and account for time, and monitoring job expenses against estimates, informing the supervisor of any potential cost overruns. A positive approach, supportive conduct, and setting a standard for others are key. The technician contributes to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while meeting safety and quality expectations, and may train or mentor others. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED
3-4 years of experience
Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
Valid Driver License
Successfully completed all required training curriculum to be designated Service Field Tech II

Nice To Haves

Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and relevant Dealer software programs.

Responsibilities

Conducts all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations.
Wears proper personal protective equipment.
Attends and successfully completes required technician training classes.
Maintains necessary set of tools required for job performance to diagnose, disassemble and assemble components to manufacturer's specifications.
Diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company owned equipment including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs.
Works in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways of improving the methods of work, work area, and safety standards.
Inspects components to insure maximum parts are being reused to control repair costs.
Completes required documentation utilizing appropriate software to document repairs performed on equipment, and accounting for repair times.
Monitors job expenses versus repair estimates and ensures that the supervisor is aware of any cost over run, prior to the job being completed.
Approaches work in a positive manner, maintains conduct that is supportive of the work Team and sets the standard for others to follow.
Contributes to Team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations.
Trains and/or mentors others in department.
Performs other duties as assigned.
