About The Position

Provide I & E / PLC technical support and start up assistance to our customers in order to maintain integrity and high quality of our engineered product equipment.

Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • 10 years industry experience.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • 2-4 or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write reports of a technical nature and articles for inter-company publication that conforms to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred.
  • Some form of industry sponsored mechanical analysis training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage start up and commissioning of sold units and provide all required documentation.
  • PLC controls check out, adjustments and repairs.
  • Ensure control system interfaces between package and customer’s system.
  • Instrumentation loop checking and calibration.
  • Travel domestically as well as internationally.
  • Analyze repetitive occurrences and provide technical solutions in order to drive down costs.
  • Good customer management skills are required in order to maintain customer confidence both internally as well as externally.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills are essential to balance customer needs with company cost issues.
  • Read and understand P & ID and electrical drawings.
  • Computer generated reports.
  • Understand and troubleshoot PLC network issues that may arise during the work period. This includes Modbus.
  • Familiarity with basic process flow to eliminate misunderstandings during troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Allen Bradley software and programming, including uploading, downloading, and modifying programs per customer request with engineering approval.
  • Familiarity with HMIs and HMI terminology, including making changes and downloading HMIs based on customer requests with engineering approval.
  • Understanding of the concepts of a basic, handheld electrical meter and a handheld HART communicator.
  • Work safely and present a leadership attitude toward safe work practices. Be an example.
  • Provide all the support described above to customer owned units as well in complete support of the companies AMS business offering.
