This position requires daily travel to locations in and around the San Francisco, SFO airport and surrounding area. The Field Service Technician is responsible for meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction. They will install, repair, and maintain equipment in the field, and provide customer training as required. This role involves documenting all inspections, maintenance, and repair work, ordering and installing parts, and managing the repair parts cycle time. The technician will review logs for open issues, prepare formal reports to customers, and participate in Service Sales opportunities to promote revenue programs. Ensuring tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated is crucial, as is assessing product/equipment performance and recommending improvements. The role also includes providing technical support to customers and other service professionals, potentially participating in site surveys and pilot program service activities. A basic technical knowledge of the company’s Trace and X-Ray technologies is required, along with clear and concise business communication skills. Maintaining a close relationship with senior level FSE’s and Product Managers is important for supporting customer needs and staying aware of technical trends. Cost control and compliance with health, safety, environmental, and export control regulations are also key aspects of this position. Travel, overtime, and work hours other than Monday-Friday may be required.
