More about us: https://www.hach.com/about-us & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yU6jD2xQoEk Reporting to the Field Service Manager, the Field Service Technician I is responsible for delivering high-quality customer service, performing preventive maintenance, routine repairs, and calibrating and verifying Hach devices at our customer sites. The customer base for this role is anticipated to be a combination of municipal (i.e., drinking and wastewater treatment facilities) and industrial (i.e., power plants and food and beverage plants). Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of field service experience and/or customer-facing roles preferred.
  • This position requires occasional rental of vehicles or booking of hotel rooms for business travel.
  • A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to rent a car and/ or hotel rooms under applicable state laws are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical aptitude is a must - experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair.
  • Associates/technical degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience with MS Office products and experience with ERP systems such as ServiceMax and/or Salesforce.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels within an organization, from front line operators to senior management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.
  • Promotes a positive customer experience and serves as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems.
  • Work in a wide variety of municipal and industrial settings, including but not limited to drinking water & wastewater treatment facilities, refineries, chemical manufacturing plants, food & beverage processing facilities, etc....Some applications may involve instrument servicing in NEC hazardous locations (Class I Division 2).
  • Submits prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
  • Follows safe work practices according to company policy.
  • Executes administrative activities in support of service visits.
  • Daily travel to customer sites.
  • Company-paid travel, accommodations, and meals are provided for overnight stays.
