Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Safety Follow all safety protocols including proper PPE for all tasks undertaken and ensure all others on site are also wearing proper PPE and following safety protocols. Report any unsafe conditions to the PM or Operations Supervisor. Prepare and submit at least one Near Miss each month. Perform Maintenance on Water, Sewer, Storm, and Street Infrastructure Systems Per direction from Operations Supervisor or the Project Manager perform regular preventative maintenance on infrastructure systems. Maintenance may include but is not limited to: Cleaning sanitary or storm sewer lines. Cleaning drop inlets and manholes. Reading meters. Performing lift station checks. Taking Chlorine Samples. Scraping and painting. Flushing Fire hydrants. Operating valves. Smoke testing sewers. General cleaning. Digging. Any other items assigned. Perform repairs to damaged infrastructure. Repairs may include: laying new water, sewer, and storm lines; repairing leaks; patching pavement; repairing manholes or drop inlets; replacing worn components; fixing signs and posts; and any other item assigned. Emergency Response Be willing and able to respond to emergency situations including but not limited to weather related events, pipe or lift station repairs, and/or other client requests. Diagnose and determine a plan for repairs to infrastructure when failure or damage occurs. Communicate the proposed plan and any information applicable or requested to the Project Manager or Operations Supervisor or their designee for approval. Perform and/or direct repairs on damaged infrastructure with the approval and/or direction of the Project Manager. Other Duties Communicate usage of inventory items to the Operations Supervisor and assist in efforts to maintain proper levels of spare parts inventory. Communicate with Operations Supervisor to facilitate creation of Work Orders for maintenance activities. Communicate activities completed with the Deputy Project Leader for inclusion in monthly reports. Emptying and cleaning portable toilets. Delivering chairs and signs. Emptying trash cans. Ensure work areas are maintained in a neat, tidy and organized manner. Ensure MISS Utility regulations and dig ticket protocols are followed as required. Be willing and able to perform the duties of any other staff members when necessary. Communicate with the client as required to coordinate work efforts. Any other items necessary for the successful execution of the project.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.

  • Respond to emergency situations including weather-related events, pipe or lift station repairs, and other client requests.
  • Diagnose and determine repair plans for infrastructure failures or damage, and communicate proposed plans for approval.
  • Perform and/or direct repairs on damaged infrastructure with approval and/or direction.
  • Communicate usage of inventory items and assist in maintaining spare parts inventory levels.
  • Communicate with Operations Supervisor to facilitate creation of Work Orders for maintenance activities.
  • Communicate completed activities with the Deputy Project Leader for inclusion in monthly reports.
  • Empty and clean portable toilets.
