This role involves conducting assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations, while wearing proper personal protective equipment. The technician will attend and successfully complete required training classes, maintain a necessary set of tools for diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components to manufacturer's specifications. Responsibilities include diagnosing and performing designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. The technician will work in a neat and orderly fashion, continuously seeking improvements in work methods, the work area, and safety standards. They will inspect components to maximize parts reuse for cost control and complete required documentation using appropriate software to record repairs and account for repair times. Monitoring job expenses against repair estimates and informing the supervisor of any cost overruns before job completion is crucial. The role requires approaching work positively, maintaining supportive conduct within the team, and setting standards for others. This includes contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while upholding safety and quality expectations, training and/or mentoring others, and temporarily assuming supervisory duties as necessary. Other duties as assigned will also be performed.
