This role involves conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations, and wearing proper personal protective equipment. The technician will attend and successfully complete required training classes, maintain a necessary set of tools for job performance, and diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. The position requires working in a neat and orderly fashion, looking for ways to improve methods, work areas, and safety standards, and inspecting components to ensure maximum parts are reused to control repair costs. Documentation of repairs performed and accounting for repair times using appropriate software is essential. The technician will monitor job expenses versus repair estimates and inform the supervisor of any cost overruns prior to job completion. A positive approach to work, supportive conduct towards the team, and setting standards for others are expected. Training and/or mentoring others in the department and temporarily assuming the supervisor's position as necessary are also part of the role. Other duties as assigned will be performed.
