The Field Service Technician Calibration, I role is responsible for supporting customers both on and off-site. This involves working with control software for customer test requests, performing maintenance and calibrations on test equipment, and troubleshooting test cell equipment.

Requirements

  • 2-year Degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, or related field.
  • High school diploma or GED with technical curriculum.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and pneumatics.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in repair or maintenance of electrical and pneumatic equipment.
  • Ability to use tools such as a process calibrator, multi meter, scopes and megohmmeter.
  • Proven knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic principles and code requirements.
  • Proven experience working with machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills with an emphasis on root cause analysis.
  • Moderate level of soldering and de-soldering skills.
  • Ability to apply logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to technical issues.
  • Ability to work well in a Team environment.
  • Hands-on problem solving and continuous improvement support.
  • Strong Customer orientation.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Complete annual calibrations for torque, rotation speed, air temperature, humidity etc. in Customer’s testing equipment to ensure compliance with ISO 17025 calibration standards.
  • Complete regular preventative maintenance for Customer’s testing equipment to replace worn out parts, filters, or other components to reduce customer downtime due to equipment failure.
  • Identify upgrade opportunities for software/hardware to ensure that Customers are always running the latest software and solutions LINK offers and engage Sales department as appropriate.
  • Interpret electrical schematic and mechanical prints.
  • Technical responsibility for organizing, executing, and coordinating Customer jobs.
  • Act as a liaison with Customers with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the test system.
  • Self-guided troubleshooting, maintenance and calibration of testing equipment.
  • Build assistance on dynamometer systems and brake systems.
  • Filling out service reports, calibration, and maintenance reports accurately.
  • Provide solutions to Customer problems, repairing faults and servicing equipment.
  • Assist, explain and train Customers about good practices for new equipment or maintenance as required.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting complex technical problems on-site or over the phone.
  • Create and maintain service records to follow up accordingly and to respond to Customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Communicate with Customers to understand their requirements and ensure Customer satisfaction.
  • Work with High Voltage DC and AC.
  • Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment.
  • All other related duties as assigned.
