Field Service Technician Bending

About The Position

This role supports customers with Amada Press Brakes, including installation, service, training (operational, networking, programming, software, application, and bending automation), and troubleshooting. The technician will also service Punch Presses, Shears, general fabricating machines, and automated material handling systems. Key responsibilities include managing the entire equipment installation process at customer sites, providing customer training, and utilizing Amada applications software for line control and part programming. Regular travel within assigned territories is required.

Requirements

  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems, and networks.
  • Ability to precisely follow layout drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language.
  • Excellent customer relations and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage the total equipment installation process at customer site.
  • Operation, applications, software, and part programming capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter, and Oscilloscope.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Accountable and responsible to service and support a customer through all aspects of the customer’s ownership of the machine.
  • Routine travel within assigned territories with occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and train customers on Amada Press Brakes and other fabricating machinery.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems, and networks.
  • Follow layout drawings and blueprints for equipment installation.
  • Complete status (service) reports daily and expense reports weekly.
  • Manage the total equipment installation process at customer sites.
  • Provide training on operation, applications, software, and part programming.
  • Use Amada applications software for line control and part programming.
  • Travel regularly within assigned territories.
