About The Position

This is an entry-level position that generally requires less than one year of experience and/or demonstrated job-relevant knowledge/skills. The Field Service Technician 3 relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions and works under immediate supervision. The role involves performing exemplary maintenance services on equipment to ensure owning and operating costs exceed customer standards. The technician will utilize Holt Cat’s digital tools to capture and report issues related to equipment operation and performance to maximize uptime. Additionally, the incumbent must successfully coordinate with Holt’s central dispatch team for logistics and communicate directly with customers to confirm job requirements, location, and timeline. The position demands providing superior customer service to internal and external customers in alignment with Holt CAT’s Vision, Values, and Mission statement. Essential functions include modeling, promoting, and reinforcing Holt’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes. The technician will perform high-quality preventative field maintenance and electronic inspections, effectively maintain and communicate a field service schedule, and obtain, package, and submit required compartment fluid samples daily. Maintaining the appearance and operation of the service truck is crucial for productivity and professional representation. The role requires a commitment to work order efficiency, regular and punctual attendance, and adherence to all safety and company policies.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Up to one year of experience with field or shop preventive maintenance preferred.
Valid driver's license with a safe driving record required.
Must be able obtain a Class B CDL within 6 months of employment.
Self-motivated, thoughtful individual with a high energy level who can work alone or with others in a field environment.
Ability to work independently as well as a part of a diverse team and establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and customers.
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to interact with tact and courtesy and maintain a professional demeanor.
Demonstrated proficiency with current computer software and related hardware.
Some knowledge of construction equipment and related equipment.
Ability to read and understand equipment service manuals and lubrication charts.
Basic knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Understanding of preventive maintenance procedures and practices.

Responsibilities

Perform exemplary maintenance services on equipment to ensure owning and operating costs exceed customer standards.
Use Holt Cat’s digital tools to capture and report issues as it pertains to the operation and performance of the equipment to maximize up time.
Work with Holt’s central dispatch team for logistics.
Communicate directly with customers to confirm job requirements, location, and timeline.
Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
Model, promote, reinforce, and reward the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes.
Perform high quality preventative field maintenance work and electronic inspections on equipment.
Effectively maintain and communicate a field service schedule to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Accurately obtain, package, and submit required compartment fluid samples daily.
Maintain appearance and operation of service truck to ensure productivity and professional representation to Holt customers.
Achieve 5% or higher work order efficiency for reviewed time period.
Work safely always and adhere to all applicable safety policies.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
