About The Position

The Field Technician II will be responsible for installing, servicing, and upgrading equipment at customer locations. This role involves diagnosing technical issues, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring the effective functioning of equipment and controls. Additionally, the Field Technician II will provide training and guidance to customers, configure hardware and embedded software components, and perform routine maintenance on technology equipment.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in Customer Service or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • 6+ years of electrical / mechanical installation, troubleshooting and repair experience, preferred.
  • Ability in reading technical diagrams, manuals and schematics.
  • Proficiency in reading technical diagrams, manuals and schematics, preferred.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing both hardware and electronic components, preferred.
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers, sales, and technology teams
  • Ability to problem solve and operate independently
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt as priorities change
  • Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to diagnose and repair base level equipment
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mid level equipment
  • Experience with Mail-related equipment, or parcel lockers a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems

Responsibilities

  • Install, service or upgrade equipment onsite at customer locations.
  • Configure hardware and embedded software components after installation.
  • Perform advanced configuration and servicing of hardware and software business applications.
  • Facilitate installations of production equipment with project management teams.
  • Diagnose general and advanced technical issues, troubleshoot problems and identify solutions to ensure the effective functioning of equipment and controls.
  • Carry out expert-level troubleshooting on large equipment.
  • Test equipment to troubleshoot the issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance on technology equipment.
  • Provide remote support alongside onsite attendance.
  • Keep clients apprised of progress during maintenance or a down-system situation.
  • Escalate issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their requirements and provide appropriate technical recommendations and solutions.
  • Provide training and guidance to customers on the proper operation and maintenance of products, including teaching customers how to use the equipment properly.
  • Mentor and guide other junior technicians.
  • Ensure continuous improvement by sharing knowledge.
  • Maintain all tools and equipment used during service calls.
  • Manage the stock of replacement parts and equipment.
  • Travel to customer sites frequently, up to 100%, holding a valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
  • Lift or move 50 lbs (22 kg), with or without accommodation, within OSHA guidelines.
