CCS Field Service Tech
About The Position
Under general supervision, this role is responsible for spooling and banding capillary tubing utilized on artificial lift systems. This involves a coordinated effort with customer representatives during installs or pulls on oil and gas job sites. The position requires the ability to be on call 24/7 and travel daily to field locations in a company work truck. Key duties include spooling cable onto capillary spools as tubing is pulled from the well, banding capillary tubing onto tubing as equipment is run into the well, and maintaining the service truck and trailer with daily inspections to ensure DOT compliance. The role also involves proper completion of DOT logbooks and inspection forms, completing daily timesheets, conducting field analysis and tests on capillary strings, and collecting information during testing to provide customers with recommendations. The Field Service Tech must be adaptable to changing job assignments and flexible to work overtime with little notice, and may assist with workover rig operations. Safety and environmental compliance are paramount, requiring adherence to all company EHS policies and training.
Requirements
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence as required.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Basic hand tool proficiency.
- Basic computer skills required to operate computerized test equipment.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to be on call 24/7.
- Ability to travel to the field location daily in company work truck.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to safely bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at area.
- Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate hand tools and mechanical tools.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace.
- Must be able to tolerate changing priorities, and complete assignments despite frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Nice To Haves
- 1 year workover, capillary, or ESP experience is preferred.
- A combination of the above qualifications will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Spool cable onto capillary spool as tubing is pulled out of the well.
- Band capillary tubing onto tubing as downhole equipment and tubing are run into the well.
- Maintain capillary service truck and trailer, performing daily inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Properly complete DOT logbooks, DOT inspection forms, and turn them in for office records.
- Complete daily timesheet.
- Conduct field analysis and tests on capillary strings after they have come out of the well.
- Collect information during testing and inspection to provide customers with recommendations on capillary tubing status.
- Adjust quickly to changing job assignments/requirements and work overtime with little or no advance notice.
- Assist with workover rig operations on location as required.
- Complete all work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements.
- Follow all environmental requirements.
- Complete and actively participate in all company EHS training requirements.
- Maintain a clean driving record in accordance with company insurance policy.
