About The Position

The Field Service Technician II serves as a technical expert in the field, diagnosing and resolving window and door product issues while delivering a best-in-class customer experience. This role requires the ability to independently perform service calls, repairs, adjustments, and product evaluations with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on window and door installation, service, or repair experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of window and door products, hardware, installation methods, and repair techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and resolve window and door-related issues.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
  • Customer service experience and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and Windows applications.
  • Ability to use mobile devices and service software for documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record in accordance with company policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working directly with homeowners, builders, and contractors.
  • Knowledge of impact-resistant and hurricane-rated window and door products.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills.
  • Aerial Lift Certification or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Represent PGT and MITER Brands professionally during all customer interactions.
  • Communicate directly with homeowners, builders, distributors, contractors, and other customers regarding service-related concerns.
  • Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair window and door product issues in residential and commercial settings.
  • Perform adjustments, replacements, and repairs on windows, doors, and hardware components.
  • Identify root causes of product concerns and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Safely operate a variety of hand tools and power tools.
  • Document service calls, observations, repairs performed, and outcomes using mobile devices such as iPads, laptops, or similar technology.
  • Submit accurate and timely service reports through company service software.
  • Ensure customer homes and job sites are left clean and returned to their original condition following service work.
  • Pick up, deliver, and manage parts between warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and customer locations.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels in service vehicles and warehouse locations.
  • Inspect incoming parts for quality compliance and report non-conforming materials.
  • Support warehouse organization and assist with unloading deliveries as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and properly functioning service vehicle.
  • Mentor and assist less experienced technicians as needed.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
