About The Position

A Field Service Supervisor (FSS) at APC is a highly skilled professional responsible for operating and overseeing equipment in the field to ensure the safe, precise, and efficient execution of APC raw material collections. Their primary role is to supervise the team of service technicians to ensure APC safety, quality and yield metrics are being met with upholding reliability standards for all parts of the blood collection processes.

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years in maintenance experience, preferably in blood collections.
  • Strong understanding of QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) policies and the ability to enforce safety protocols on the job site.
  • Ability to read and apply OEM running procedures for various pieces of equipment.
  • Parts warehouse inventory management and upkeep.
  • Critical thinking skills: Quick decision-making and troubleshooting capabilities to ensure job success, cost effectiveness and minimize downtime.
  • Ability to travel to APC supplier and production facilities up to 40%.
  • Ability to work daily and extended hours, as necessary, including weekends and holidays.
  • Operating and overseeing all field equipment to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of all APC collection sites, including GEA/Alpha Laval self-cleaning centrifuges, heat exchangers, chillers, pumps, other parts to include the knowledge of ordering parts.
  • Ensure that all tasks are conducted in strict accordance with OEM specifications, company procedures, and customer expectations, maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting inspections of collection systems.
  • Coordinating with APC drying plants and key company representatives to align operations with customer requirements and job specifications.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining equipment to ensure all tools and machinery operate at peak performance.
  • Completing and maintaining field documentation, including POR reports, job performance reports, and equipment condition logs.
  • Managing parts inventory, ordering and management at equipment warehouse is a part of the expectations with this position.
  • Provide assistance to Technical Support and Service personnel.
  • Lead and/or direct field crews during on-site environmental service projects, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient execution under the direction of the Field Technician Services Manager.
  • Supervisors lead by example and will routinely perform technician duties alongside their teams.
  • Train, mentor, and support field technicians by reinforcing safety practices, technical skills, and performance standards.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients onsite, providing updates on job status and ensuring alignment with project scope and expectations.
  • Serve as the primary on-site company representative when the Field Technician Services Manager is off-site, supporting client satisfaction and field decision-making.
  • Complete and submit all required job documentation accurately and on time, including Daily Work Forms and Document Change Forms for project delays or changes.
  • Evaluate and report on client requests for additional or unscheduled work, coordinating with internal teams for review and next steps.
  • Oversee housekeeping and equipment organization at job sites and the facility, ensuring tools, vehicles, and work areas are clean, safe, and ready for use.
