About The Position

As the Field Service Solutions Specialist - HVAC at Integra, this role serves as the lead technical authority and solution architect for HVAC systems tied to modular data-center and mission-critical infrastructure deployments. Embedded across manufacturing and delivery locations, this position drives HVAC technical excellence, supports commissioning and field performance, assists the field service organization, and promotes continuous improvement across factory design, installation, testing, and after-sales support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on HVAC field service or service-engineering experience; commercial or industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience providing technical support on-site and remotely, ideally including escalation-level troubleshooting, commissioning, or system start-up.
  • Demonstrated experience training or mentoring technicians, developing training materials, or contributing to continuous improvement of service practices.
  • Demonstrated HVAC expertise with ability to support complex commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, refrigeration documentation, and controls documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical issues for clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel frequently to factory sites, customer locations, and field teams, including overnight or extended stays as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification required; universal certification preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal HVAC trade school, technical school diploma, or relevant engineering/technical coursework preferred.
  • Additional coursework in controls systems, refrigeration, HVAC design, or building systems preferred.
  • Prior experience with mission-critical HVAC systems, data-center cooling, or large-scale commercial HVAC deployments highly desirable.
  • Industry certifications such as NATE, HVAC Excellence, or recognized trade credentials strongly preferred.
  • Additional certifications related to HVAC controls, refrigeration, or building systems preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Be stationed (embedded) at Integra’s manufacturing/assembly facilities (e.g., Akron, Harrow, Houston) to build deep knowledge of HVAC equipment produced for our modular systems.
  • Support factory testing, commissioning, and QA processes – ensuring HVAC systems meet performance and reliability standards prior to release.
  • Provide feedback to design and manufacturing teams on recurring issues, design improvements, and lessons learned from field performance.
  • Serve as the Level 2 technical escalation point for field service operations (where Level 1 support is provided by field leads).
  • Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolution support for complex HVAC problems encountered in the field.
  • Travel to customer and site locations, as needed, to support field teams and ensure successful system performance.
  • Oversee and participate in installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, repairs, and performance tuning of HVAC systems delivered by Integra.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, manufacturer specifications, and Integra’s safety standards (SafeState).
  • Document all service work, findings, repairs, and recommendations in clear, detailed service reports or commissioning records.
  • Lead the design and delivery of technical training (factory-based and field-based) for new and existing Field Service Technicians.
  • Coach, mentor, and reinforce best practices on-site – ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to safety and service standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the training program: update training materials, integrate lessons learned, and adapt to new equipment or technologies.
  • Act as the technical representative for Integra’s Field Service group during complex customer or vendor calls and escalations.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively about system conditions, root-cause analyses, recommended solutions, and action plans.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, project management, and quality assurance teams to resolve systemic issues, coordinate improvements, and align on product enhancements.
  • Support the interviewing, screening, and technical evaluation of new Field Service Technician candidates to help grow and strengthen the team.
  • Provide technical input and feedback in the hiring process to ensure candidate skill sets align with Integra’s high standards.
  • Proactively identify recurring field and factory challenges and lead root-cause analysis efforts.
  • Implement corrective actions, design changes, and process improvements to enhance equipment reliability, maintainability, and serviceability.
  • Promote and enforce safety, compliance, and documentation standards across all service operations, consistent with Integra’s “SafeState” safety culture.
