About The Position

This role is categorized as onsite. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to Milford or Warren MI on a full time basis. The Field Service Representative (FSR) is the 'voice of the customer' assuring segment leading Warranty and customer satisfaction. You will directly interface the Vehicle Chief Engineer and Program Team members, all of the Engineering teams, and the related Manufacturing Plants. You'll serve as a liaison between General Motors Defense and the customer to help coordinate, communicate, review, and provide support for the HD SUV and other GMO platforms. You will provide technical and administrative support to resolve problems related to maintenance, training, quality, readiness, and sustainability.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience in one or more of the following: Quality, Engineering, Plant Manufacturing, Product Development, Supplier Quality, Field Service Representative, Field Service Engineering or related
  • Travel up to 90% both domestic and international
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable with ambiguous environments
  • High degree of problem-solving skills & experience
  • High level of oral and written communication & presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and identify issues through data
  • High level of interpersonal skills to effectively work with others and in a team environment
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee).
  • Eligible to obtain Secret U.S Security Clearance after hire

  • Education/certificates in vehicle service repair
  • Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance as of the first day of work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle disassembly, reassembly, and verification of proper operation
  • Determine serviceability of vehicle systems, and the need for repair
  • Use scan tool and multimeter, with schematics to diagnose and repair vehicle subsystems
  • Replace worn or damaged pans with new or reconditioned parts.
  • Perform maintenance in accordance with prescribed Technical Manuals.
  • Retrofit of vehicle components in accordance with instructions
  • Properly document all activities as required by task and for reporting purposes.
  • Travel up to 90% of the time to customer locations
  • Support Warranty claims processes
  • Perform early issue identification, tracking and resolution
  • Assist in the Develop of Operator and Maintainer training
  • Perform service procedure validation
  • Perform special assignments as requested
