About The Position

The Field Service Recovery Technician is the primary field operator for Hudson’s mobile refrigerant recovery services. This role performs on-site recovery at job sites, maintains service vehicles and recovery equipment, refrigerant cylinder consolidation, customer interaction and demand generation and ensures all activities are digitally tracked and compliant with safety and environmental standards. This is a field-based role for someone who is mechanically skilled, tech-savvy, and passionate about doing meaningful, hands-on work that directly contributes to environmental protection

Requirements

Self-motivated and driven to succeed
Excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills
Experience with a proven track record in customer satisfaction
Clean and valid state driver’s license
Knowledge of Industrial Cooling and Refrigeration Systems
Strong technical/computer skills — daily use of CRM, Microsoft Teams, digital work orders, and tablets
CDL Class B with HazMat Endorsement or ability to obtain within 90 days (required condition of employment)
EPA 608 universal certification required
Must pass DOT physical, background check, and drug screening
Willingness to work outdoors and travel within the assigned territory
Must have the ability (required documentation) to travel domestically via aircraft when needed.
A high school diploma or GED is required
3-5 years of related industry or mechanical experience

Nice To Haves

HazMat experience a plus
DOT Medical Card preferred
Familiarity with common MS Office tools (MSOffice)

Responsibilities

Work with management and sales to build new customers and maintain client base
Strive to meet gas recovery and buyback goals
Travel to customers or work sites (e.g., HVAC contractors, mechanical shops, chiller plants) daily to carry out recovery of refrigerant and collect refrigerant recovered by customers
Set up and operate recovery machines, recovery cylinders, hoses, and other field tools
Complete digital work orders including equipment details, refrigerant weights, job documentation, and customer sign-off in a timely manner
Identify and communicate potential sales opportunities for recovery, cylinder exchange, and refrigerant buyback
Maintain vehicle safety, inventory control, and readiness of all field equipment. Take proper care of assigned vehicle by keeping it clean, in good condition and maintained according to the manual.
Represent Hudson Technologies with professionalism and a commitment to safety and service excellence
Ensure compliance with all DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations
Follow company processes, procedures, safety standards and schedules with respect to daily activities. Provide reporting on job progress for added visibility.
Demonstrate orientation toward excellent customer service by conducting daily activities, communications, and interactions in a cooperative, positive, and professional manner.
Assist with depot shipping/receiving and delivery of product and equipment with respect to recovered refrigerant.
Perform maintenance on company equipment to ensure performance when in use.
Use Microsoft Teams and other digital platforms to communicate with the operations and sales team.
Perform any other duties as assigned
