About The Position

Talon Recruiting has partnered with a leading Heavy Equipment Dealer to find a Field Service Mechanic for their team in Mt. Vernon, WA. Field Mechanics are responsible for repairing, diagnosing, inspecting, and maintaining various types of forestry and other earth-moving equipment, primarily servicing rentals and customer-owned equipment. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience in electrical, hydraulics, computer-controlled systems, drive train, and engines. They must communicate effectively and professionally with customers, supervisors, and vendors, be able to drive a company vehicle to various locations and job sites, be on call, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Technicians from all certification levels will be considered.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ of experience in electrical, hydraulics and computer controlled systems, drive train, & engines.
  • Effective and professional communication skills with customers, supervisors, and vendors.
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle to/from company locations, and job sites.
  • Ability to be on call.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Competent using laptop computer and scan tools as part of diagnostic trouble-shooting.
  • Self-motivating. Capable of completing tasks without direct supervision.
  • Possess safe work habits, with a “can do” job completion attitude.
  • Maintains a great attitude toward work, & enjoys being part of a team.
  • Able to read schematics (both electrical and hydraulic).
  • Knowledgeable in troubleshooting various heavy equipment product lines.
  • Required to have your own hand tools up to 1 ½ inch.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Able to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Valid Driver’s License, with CDL endorsement is Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Factory, vocational, or mechanical training is a plus.
  • History of working with different forms of heavy equipment, specifically cranes, excavators and forestry equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Repairing, diagnosing, inspecting, and maintaining various types of forestry and other earth-moving equipment.
  • Primarily servicing rentals and customer-owned equipment.
  • Communicating effectively and professionally to customers, supervisors, and vendors.
  • Driving company vehicle to/from company locations and job sites.
  • Being on call.
  • Performing thorough and accurate annual inspections.
