About The Position

We’re seeking a skilled Field Service Foreman to join our team. In this role, you will lead daily field operations, including meter reading and customer service activities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring billing accuracy, maintaining regulatory compliance, and upholding operational standards while championing a strong safety culture. You will combine your technical expertise, leadership skills, and operational oversight to deliver reliable, high-quality water utility services and support an efficient field team. There is frequent travel within the service area; occasional travel outside the service area including possible overnight travel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in meter reading, field service, or customer service operations, with leadership responsibilities preferred.
  • New Mexico Level III Water Distribution certification required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
  • Strong understanding of water meter operations, equipment, and field service practices.
  • Familiarity with handheld and radio meter reading systems.
  • Knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and basic repair procedures.
  • Leadership skills including supervision, coaching, and performance management.
  • Understanding of safety regulations, hazard assessments, and safe work practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and support Meter Readers and Field Service Representatives, including training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Monitor and evaluate daily field operations to ensure productivity, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Analyze reports and operational data to identify trends, improve performance, and maintain accountability.
  • Develop and manage maintenance schedules for meter boxes, including repairs, replacements, and reporting of water loss or system issues.
  • Resolve customer concerns, meter access challenges, and technical issues related to meter reading systems.
  • Promote and enforce a safety-first culture by reviewing Job Hazard Assessments (JHA) and ensuring safe work practices in the field.
  • Oversee work order quality, routing efficiency, and service completion standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address system issues and improve overall operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
