About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Foreman to lead reciprocating compressor maintenance, overhaul, installation, inspection, and troubleshooting activities at customer sites throughout Texas, Louisiana, and other locations across the United States. This is a full-time field service leadership position supporting refinery, petrochemical, pipeline, midstream, gas processing, LNG, and industrial customers. The successful candidate will lead field crews during compressor overhauls, outage support, equipment repairs, commissioning activities, and emergency maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with reciprocating compressors and related auxiliary systems, along with proven leadership experience directing millwright and mechanical crews in industrial environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of field service experience supporting reciprocating compressors.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience leading field crews as a Foreman, Lead Mechanic, Lead Millwright, or equivalent supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience performing major overhauls, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on reciprocating compressors.
  • Experience with one or more major compressor OEM platforms, including: Ariel, Cooper-Bessemer, Worthington, Clark, Ingersoll Rand, Dresser-Rand, Gemini, Superior, Caterpillar Gas Compression Equipment, Waukesha Engine Driven Compression Systems.
  • Strong understanding of compressor frame geometry, piston rod runout, bearing inspections, valve maintenance, packing replacement, and compressor performance fundamentals.
  • Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and customer-facing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability to successfully pass DISA drug screening requirements.
  • Ability to successfully pass DISA hair follicle testing requirements.
  • Clean and professional work history demonstrating reliability and strong attendance.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • TWIC card preferred; candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a TWIC card as required by customer facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise mechanics, millwrights, and subcontractors during field service projects.
  • Establish daily work plans, assign tasks, and ensure safe and efficient project execution.
  • Maintain accountability for workmanship, schedule adherence, safety performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct pre-job meetings, safety briefings, and toolbox talks.
  • Direct the disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, installation, and commissioning of reciprocating compressors.
  • Lead maintenance and overhaul activities involving: Compressor frames, Crankshafts, Connecting rods, Crossheads, Pistons and piston rods, Cylinders and distance pieces, Packing cases, Valves and unloaders, Lubrication systems, Pulsation bottles and associated systems.
  • Verify critical measurements, tolerances, bearing clearances, rod runout, piston rod alignment, and frame geometry in accordance with OEM specifications.
  • Serve as the primary field contact between customers, Project Managers, Technical Advisors, and field crews.
  • Communicate project progress, technical findings, manpower requirements, and schedule updates.
  • Support outage planning, work scope development, and field execution strategies.
  • Oversee compressor installation, mechanical fit-up, precision alignment, and commissioning activities.
  • Support startup, operational checks, and performance verification.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OEM procedures, engineering drawings, and customer requirements.
  • Complete and review field reports, inspection records, check sheets, and daily progress documentation.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout all phases of project execution.
  • Verify proper utilization and accountability of company tooling and equipment at job sites.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.
  • Lead permit activities and ensure compliance with customer and company safety procedures.
  • Ensure crews comply with all site-specific requirements, regulations, and safe work practices.
