Field Service Engineering Manager

About The Position

This position is responsible for guiding efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems. Identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect site or business operations. This broad primary role includes loss elimination, risk management and life cycle asset management while providing guidance, instructions, directions and leadership to field service engineers and alignment on achieving key results on the site. Leads, monitors, and works with engineering team to ensure the reliability and maintainability of existing, new, and modified equipment. Monitors the life cycle of assets and associated components. Using the 8D, FRACAS and FMEA programs to report components failures and find a resolve to any system component issues. Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans. Participates in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical OEM suppliers and technical maintenance service providers. Develops acceptance tests and inspection. Optimizes the scope and related tasks of the Maintenance plan – coordinates with the planning, development and implementation of recovery, repair and preventive maintenance procedures to maintain system operation. Revise or direct revision of above procedures when needed. Participates in the final check-out of new designs. This includes site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications Design and provide input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact site operations. Develop the field engineers’ team through performance, training by allocating and managing resources. Owns the Configuration and Design Change Management of the Project Manages the technical performances of the systems and provide Rex to relevant Services Platform. Supports cost reduction actions, with sourcing and industrial. Detects, defines and implements the modifications of the maintained products to improve the reliability and serviceability, in order to reduce project costs and improve the performances of the systems. Assures the update of the technical documentation of the projects. Supports the Product Safety management system ensuring safety risks are mitigated in a timely manner. Manages Obsolescence Plan. Captures and ensures ownership of regulations and standards to be applied. Interfaces with the stakeholders in the Certification processes. Develops the work instructions and processes from the maintenance plan and maintenance manuals. Analyses the technical performances of the systems and the efficiency of the maintenance plan and processes, promoting action plans to improve them. Manages the technical documentation within the system and any required interface with the MMIS. Develops standardized tools/processes improving efficiency in maintenance activities. Assures efficient parts codification in line with Platform rules: materials identification, codification process, interfaces with Alstom systems, quality and normative requirements.
