About The Position

The Field Service Engineer 2 will be responsible to develop and maintain the operating, installing, diagnosing, and repair of SureScan products upon successful training. You will be based at the SureScan location in Owego, NY, to be trained for developing service procedures and providing on-demand technical support to end users via telephone, chat, or other communication tools. In this position you will learn and apply knowledge of diverse technologies including High-Voltage X-ray generating equipment, electromechanical systems, and IT networks and platforms. You will work to continually improve SureScan service capability, making regular updates to service diagnostics, Service Manuals, Service Bulletins, and Service training. This position’s specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Resolve complex technical issues. Generate service procedures and documentation. Travel to customer site for Installation and Integration of SureScan products. Meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction; Conducts follow up calls with the customer to ensure satisfaction of work; Installs, repairs and maintains equipment in the field. Provide training to third-party service providers. Perform tasks related to replacement part management. Manage data and information systems for service delivery. Provide system level oversight and direct activities for remote technical resources. Alternate shift schedules will be required up to 25% of the time to support 24/7/365 technical support to global installations. May include other duties as assigned and/or special projects.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or 5+ years relevant hands-on work experience with diverse equipment and technologies.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical, electronic, communication and IT system failures.
  • Ability to read and follow electrical/mechanical schematics to assist in isolating fault to root cause component/assembly.
  • Experience operating and/or installing complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical equipment assembly, disassembly, and measurements.
  • Highly organized, motivated, detail-oriented self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in the use of professional documentation tools (MS Office or equivalent.)
  • Must meet typical eligibility criteria for access to controlled areas.
  • US Citizen status
  • Must be able to complete DHS Public Trust Background Check.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience servicing X-ray imaging systems (Medical, Industrial or Security)
  • Experience operating and servicing IT equipment (servers, networks, and workstations)
