About The Position

Bloom Talent Solutions is presenting an exclusive opportunity on behalf of a well-established critical power services company that serves mission-critical facilities across South Florida. This role is for a UPS Field Service Engineer based in West Palm Beach, FL, operating on a home-based/field deployment model. The demand for reliable critical power in South Florida is constant, and this position requires an engineer with UPS field experience, the drive to work independently, and a passion for keeping mission-critical systems running. The role involves meaningful work in a vibrant market, covering the area from Miami to West Palm Beach.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on UPS and critical power field service experience; 10+ years preferred.
  • OEM factory training or direct experience with Emerson/Liebert/Vertiv, APC/MGE/Schneider, or Eaton/Powerware/PDI.
  • Proficient with hand tools and test equipment for maintenance and repairs.
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with resourcefulness and initiative.
  • Knowledge of equipment manufacturers' specifications.
  • Physically capable of repeated bending and lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and on-call as needed.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred location: West Palm Beach area or anywhere within the Miami to West Palm Beach corridor.
  • Prior experience with third-party UPS service providers.
  • Technical degree from DeVry, Lincoln Tech, or equivalent program.
  • Military veterans with electrical/mechanical systems experience are strongly encouraged to apply (Navy EMN/ETN/MMN, Army Power Generation, Air Force Power Production, Coast Guard).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct commissioning-focused design reviews, prepare test procedures and reports, and oversee on-site testing.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, emergency response, equipment start-up, and field modifications on UPS and critical power equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment including UPS systems, batteries, PDUs, STSs, and related power electronics.
  • Assist in developing Methods of Procedures (MOPs) for scheduled and emergency work.
  • Coordinate with technical support to resolve maintenance or operational issues.
  • Complete Field Service Reports promptly and provide proactive recommendations to clients.
  • Train periodically at company headquarters on testing equipment and system rebuilds.
  • Work independently from a home base with primary coverage across South Florida (Miami to West Palm Beach); occasional national travel may be required for emergencies.
