About The Position

NETZSCH Premier Technologies, LLC is looking for a Field Service Engineer to be based out of their Exton, PA facility. This person will travel extensively (up to 80% mostly in the US and Canada) to customer sites to provide installation, start-up, troubleshooting, training and maintenance support for the equipment we manufacture. This is a highly technical position that must be able to interact with customers in person, and via phone and email.

Requirements

  • Current driver’s license and passport (or the ability to obtain one) is required.
  • The ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • The ability to demonstrate mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • The ability to use mechanical hand tools and electrical trouble shooting tools.
  • Must be able to travel, mostly in the US and Canada, up to 80%. (Very minimal travel will be on weekends.)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a mechanical, hands-on position is preferred.
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability or technical training will be considered in lieu of formal work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers via phone, e-mail, video calls and in person to resolve equipment issues.
  • Complete and sign off on various required reports - troubleshooting and startup reports. This requires writing and recording of information manually and electronically.
  • Perform commissioning, start-up, and training for new equipment at the customer’s facility. This includes installation check, functional testing, operational check, and then maintenance and operation training.
  • Perform preventative maintenance or service at customer’s facility for tasks the customer is not able to perform on their own. Examples: changing bearings, changing mechanical seal, electrical troubleshooting, or rebuilding mill with new parts.
  • Provide technical support for customer property (parts or systems) that are returned to our facility for repair.
  • Assist customers and coworkers with technical support (part identification, reading drawings, answering questions, hands on support, etc.)
  • Provide technical support for converting equipment to newer model designs.
  • Train customers (onsite) on operating the equipment, maintenance and preventative maintenance, and how to use NETZSCH documentation.
  • Write and revise procedures for the service department.
  • Document project progress and provide status updates as required.
  • Travel as needed, up to 80%; both domestic and international travel. This includes booking hotel and flights if required, as well as completing related expense reports.
