About The Position

FM Industries is a premier manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build to print, precision machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. We provide customers with leading-edge support from prototype to production. The Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing daily ongoing support of customer equipment, inspecting and installing assemblies and components, inspecting equipment, and conducting research on site in Austin, Texas, in order to solve problems quickly and report on project status. FSEs will ensure that everything works smoothly and engineering designs are being followed. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction by anticipating and meeting the customer’s operational needs and commitments.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of semiconductor process equipment.
  • Requires Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical). Associate level or higher or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years client facing experience with strong problem solving and have experience working independently as needed.
  • Extensive cleaner and assembly experience for Applied Materials.
  • Team player with excellent people/relationship skills, mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with plasma etching and plasma deposition systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, professional, and courteous field service and technical product support to key customers.
  • Provide support with component research and troubleshooting, repair, installation, preventative maintenance, and coordinating the ordering and installation of spare parts.
  • Perform equipment installation based on manufacturing specification.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing and engineering by discussing details of component/sub-system specifications with customers during onsite visits or by telephone/video conferences.
  • Assist in writing, reviewing, and updating installation, operation, and maintenance manuals for systems in the customer install base.
