This Field Service Engineer position is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of Beckman Coulter equipment, specifically servicing Chemistry, Immunoassay instruments, and laboratory automation. The role reports to the Service Manager, is part of the Service Organization, and will be fully remote, servicing the Traverse City, MI to the Upper Peninsula territory.

Requirements

Associate degree (prefer technical, biomedical, instrumentation, electrical engineering or related) or equivalent military experience or High School diploma
1-year experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation
Ability to travel, 10% overnight, within assigned territory with periodic travel to other areas/overnight.
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50lb (tools, replacement parts, consumables etc.).

Nice To Haves

2+ years’ experience of advanced trouble shooting
Developing relationships with internal and external customers to foster positive partnership and enhance likelihood of customer satisfaction and retention.

Responsibilities

Under minimal direction, complete troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications, and service repair needs on Beckman Coulter equipment.
Provide excellent and efficient service to Beckman Coulter’s customers.
Provide technical training on products.
Maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records.
Order repair parts.
Adhere to cycle times.
Utilize business systems such as OBI, Sales Force, and SharePoint for Service Call Planning and advancing team goals.
Communicate with various levels of internal and external customers, recognizing and addressing their unique needs.
Foster collaboration by assisting with the training of newer Field Service Engineers.
