About The Position

Northrop Grumman is hiring a Field Service Engineer to support implementation and execution of worldwide Field Service Operations for the U.S. Army’s Advanced Counter-UAS Engagements (ACE). The position is based in Huntsville, Alabama, with short- and long-term deployments to locations outside the continental United States. The role requires frequent domestic and international travel, including travel with little to no notice, and a current Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, networking, engineering, or a related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree, including 6 years of directly related network field-support experience.
• Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, maintaining, and documenting network infrastructure in field, customer-site, data-center, or industrial environments.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Wi-Fi, network security fundamentals, and network monitoring and ticketing systems.
• Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, access points, cabling, and rack-mounted equipment, and diagnosing connectivity, hardware, power, and configuration issues using network tools and logs.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally with little to no notice, meet pre-deployment standards including medical and immunization requirements, and work independently while coordinating with remote engineering teams.
• Strong customer communication, problem-solving, time-management, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to lift and install equipment and comply with site safety requirements; the position requires lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Current Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Must be located in, or willing to relocate to, Huntsville, Alabama.
• Ability to pass medical and pre-deployment requirements under CONUS Replacement Center standards for deployments to ARCENT, AFRICOM, CENTCOM, or EUCOM regions.
• CompTIA Linux+ certification required at hire or obtainable within six months of the hire date.

Nice To Haves

• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA.
• Prior Air Defense experience as a 140A or 14-series professional, or Network and Signal Communications experience as a 255N or 25-series MOS professional, or in a closely related field.
• Experience performing operator and system-administration functions for the Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD) Command and Control (C2) system.
• Working knowledge of network configuration, VLANs, troubleshooting, the OSI model, and network architectures.
• Experience supporting an ADAM Cell, AMDPCS FAAD Shelter, and/or Battery Command Post operations.
• Experience supporting defense-system field testing, including First Article, Design Variation, and Environmental testing.
• Field-deployment experience in a technical support role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements in accordance with customer specifications and requirements.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determine solutions in accordance with customer specifications, and recommend coordinated actions to company or customer representatives.
• Assess product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
• Conduct technical training and product briefings for customers, vendors, and company representatives.
• Act as a field liaison with customer personnel, providing on-site support for planning and implementing product training, checkout, and test events.
• Perform start-up testing and train customers on product features and general maintenance.
• Provide the technical interface with product-level integrated product teams.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, and document network infrastructure in field and customer environments.
