The Install Engineer is responsible for executing the installation, calibration, and initial commissioning of company products at customer sites. Working under the direction of the Ramp Manager, this role supports ramp activities by ensuring installations are completed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with performance standards. The Install Engineer plays a key role in troubleshooting technical issues, supporting system integration, and ensuring customer satisfaction during deployment.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally; must maintain valid travel documentation.
  • Up to 50% travel required (adjustable based on business needs).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in field service, installation, or technical support.
  • BS in electronics, mechanical, or related technical discipline, or equivalent military/technical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with electro/mechanical systems, software integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work independently in dynamic field environments while maintaining a high level of quality and customer focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge or exposure to optics, image processing, or motion control systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute installation and configuration of complex electro/mechanical equipment, software systems at customer sites.
  • Support ramp activities by performing installations under both standard and escalated conditions.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues encountered during installation and startup.
  • Collaborate with Ramp Manager and field teams to meet installation schedules and milestones.
  • Ensure all installations meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
  • Perform system validation, calibration, and testing to confirm operational readiness.
  • Document installation activities, issues, and resolutions in accordance with company processes.
  • Provide feedback to engineering and product teams to improve installation procedures and product performance.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory required for installation activities.
  • Support customer interactions during installation, ensuring clear communication and professional representation of the company.
  • Participate in training programs to stay current on new products, upgrades, and installation methodologies.
