About The Position

The Field Service Engineer will support installation and integration projects to include upgrades, maintenance, repairs, test, configuration, training, and demonstration. The role will be primarily located at a military command center at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC. Support will also include occasional installation and integration efforts of IT components, equipment, and cabling at remote sites within the NCR. The Field Service Engineer will support related C4I projects to include planning, design, installation, configuration, system administration, and documentation. The Field Service Engineer will work within a team representing Trident directly at a customer site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of related experience (or 6 total years in lieu of a degree).
  • Must have an active Secret level government security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+
  • Ability to quickly response to customer requests for discussion or problem resolution.
  • Ability to read, execute, and edit technical installation documents and maintenance bulletins.
  • Ability to create, read and understand block diagrams and schematics.
  • Ability to learn to install, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper data communications cables.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (floor tiles, wall mount monitors, etc).
  • Experience supporting service and integration projects, providing technical support, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment to identify and resolve system problems.
  • Experience working on Windows based systems.
  • Good interpersonal working skills in a team environment with the ability to work independently as well.
  • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to follow written instructions and document work performed.

Responsibilities

  • Works to support the design, installation, integration, configuration, testing, and documentation of Audio, Video, Security Systems, Network, KVM, Telecommunication, Computer and related technical infrastructure.
  • Plays a key role in providing operational support of command centers and conference centers.
  • Plans and leads technology assignments
  • Independently troubleshoots and resolves technical issues
  • Performs stress and performance tests on a variety of computer hardware and systems
  • Applies thorough diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions for both systems and the technical infrastructure to include fiber optic and copper cables, switches, and patch panels as necessary.
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for all troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provides routine maintenance to ensure continuous operations of equipment. Maintains records of actions and repairs.
  • Coordinates with vendors as necessary for specialized equipment repair and services.
  • Interacts daily with customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
