About The Position

In this role as a Field Service Engineer, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for customer satisfaction in all aspects of the job. Increased throughput, decreased downtime, regular Preventive Maintenance, regular upgrades as deemed by Beckman Coulter technical staff. A clear advocate for the customer (internal and external) and a steward for the company. This position reports to the North Central Service Manager and is part of the North Central District located in Midwest and will be working remotely to cover Missouri and southern Illinois. Residency within St Louis city limits required. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Drive a sense of urgency to ensure customer needs are addressed promptly and with an emphasis on a “first time fix”. To manage a customer account in its entirety, and when accessing an account, determine on where we can add more value by offering other services (i.e. reagents, consumables, additional or new equipment leads, service on non‐agreement instruments, etc.). Opportunity to build and grow strong customer relationships while directly contributing to both individual and district revenue success. And play a key part in driving annual revenue targets, supporting field service maintenance agreement growth through monthly recurring billing, and partnering with Sales via lead generation initiatives. Achieve visibility and accountability, with an expected year‑over‑year growth target of 8–10%.

Requirements

  • Experience using standard test equipment to troubleshoot and service instrumentation.
  • Excellent customer communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information and build strong relationships.
  • Associate’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, biological or life science, or a similar discipline, or equivalent military experience.
  • Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Local travel is required for this role daily.
  • Ability to travel overnight 25-50% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior field service experience in a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Highly computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite, PowerBI, Sales Force, ServiceMax).
