About The Position

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for customer satisfaction in all aspects of the job including increased throughput, decreased downtime, regular Preventive Maintenance, and regular upgrades. This person will be a clear advocate for the customer (internally and externally) and a steward for the company. This position reports to the District Manager and is part of the Beckman Coulter Life Sciences Service Team – Great Lakes Region. The position will be remotely/centrally located in COLUMBUS, OH, requiring regional travel serving: North Central NY, Western PA, OH, IN, KY, TN. Additionally, you may be called upon to support the efforts of other regions as needed. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Service Beckman Coulter products at the customer facility. Cultivate customer relationships and support commercial initiatives. Drive a sense of urgency to ensure the customer needs are addressed promptly with an emphasis on a “first time fix” through the problem-solving process.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, biomedical engineering, life science, or equivalent military experience.
1+ year of experience problem solving, diagnosing, or troubleshooting challenges with instrumentation using a variety of methods.
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to commute onsite to customer facilities within assigned territory.
Overnight travel 25% - 60%.
Ability to occasionally lift, lower, and move up to 50 lbs. (tools, replacement parts, consumables, etc.).

Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment
