About The Position

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is the primary technical representative for Medtronic MIDAS Drills. The FSE is responsible for the technical assessment, installation, support, servicing, maintenance, and de-installation of all MIDAS systems at customer sites. This role requires close collaboration with Sales Team Members and customers to coordinate on-site visits. The FSE also provides crucial feedback to Marketing, Quality, Production, and Engineering groups to continuously evaluate product performance in the field. This position is ideal for a responsible, quick-learning, and flexible individual who can travel for week-long assignments on short notice. The selected candidate will be required to reside within the Fort Worth area and travel to multiple accounts throughout the nation, involving approximately 75% travel outside the Fort Worth area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in customer support, mechanical or electrical equipment repair.
  • A valid driver's license is essential.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installations, inspections, verification, corrective and preventive maintenance to ensure the successful operation of MIDAS systems.
  • Maintain and submit technical records and documentation as per regulatory requirements.
  • Provide information from experiences in the field to colleagues in the office as well as updates to the database.
  • Provide input to service processes to ensure continuous improvement and evolution of the Field Service organization, including the development and maintenance of Service documentation and procedures.
  • Provide input to Engineering and Manufacturing for upgrades to MIDAS products.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of technical training to distributors, partners, agents, and technically qualified representatives of the customer base.
  • Help facilitate the smooth introduction of new products to customers by participating in design improvement discussions.
  • Investigate, analyze, and recognize trends in technical data as it relates to MIDAS products.
  • Participate in special projects as requested by the US Field Service Manager or designee.
