Under supervision of Sr. Staff Field Service Engineers and Technical Support Engineers, conduct field support, including system and equipment maintenance and installations of specific Hitachi brand CD-SEM models CG5000, CG6300 and CG7300 used in semiconductor manufacturing to meet customer requirements for current and future technological processes. Perform on-site installation and provide on-site technical support for customers, including resolution and acceptance testing and technology calibration. Attend customer pass-down meetings as required, and ensure equipment uptime and availability commitments are met. Develop and maintain plan-of-action documents to report on escalation activities pertaining to the operation of Hitachi semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Work directly with third-party vendors to install, troubleshoot, and repair system and equipment accessories. Transfer technical and operational knowledge to junior Field Service Engineer positions through on-the-job training or classroom training. Maintain appropriate records of all work performed and training received in the CRM system. Set and keep appropriate schedules for service on assigned equipment. 10% of time traveling to Hillsboro, OR and Hsinchu, Taiwan for job training, and to Boise, ID to provide customer support.
