Join us as a Field Service Engineer II as we work together to bring innovative automation solutions to life. This is a full-time hourly remote position requiring up to 80% travel. This Field Service Engineer is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving robotic automation, electrical, and mechanical equipment issues for customers both remotely and on-site. The role involves repairing and maintaining robots, PLCs, HMIs, control devices, and peripheral equipment while providing exceptional customer support and detailed case documentation. Working independently and collaboratively, the engineer partners with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely issue resolution, support continuous improvement efforts, and promote company capabilities. This position also includes hardware installation, training, and testing at customer facilities, with up to 80% domestic and international travel required. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of technical troubleshooting experience, strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, and the ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and robotics systems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED with associated experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex technical issues.
  • Take ownership of specific components or smaller projects.
  • Collaborate on planning and architecture discussions.
  • Proficiency in Schematic interpretation, robotics, electrical and blueprints reading.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting aptitude.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; customer service mentality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team; ability to follow instructions and adhere to quality and safety policies and practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HMI, PLC, robots and AutoCAD preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to discuss, diagnose & repair operational and process problems as reported by the customer.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintenance of robots, control devices, mechanical units, transfer devices and peripheral equipment.
  • Ability to respond to service calls/activities.
  • Thorough documentation of each customer and incident using case reporting system.
  • Self-directed to follow up with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders (Employees, managers, and customers) to ensure that expectations are met.
  • Actively propagates JR culture within engineering and promotes our capabilities.
  • Learn new equipment regularly and support customers with a variety of skill levels remotely.
  • Assist with documentation and “support guides” of recurrent issues.
  • Conduct on-site hardware installations, maintenance, and testing at client facilities.
  • Provide in-person technical support and training to clients and on-site staff.
