About The Position

At Baker Hughes, our Field Services team helps customers install, commission, maintain and optimize equipment across oilfield, power generation and industrial facilities. In this role, you will serve as the on-site technical lead for controls work on gas turbines, compressors and related rotating equipment. You will solve complex technical issues, coordinate safe execution and help customers bring critical equipment online and keep it operating reliably. Requirements

  • A technical diploma and at least five years of field experience with gas turbines, compressors or other rotating equipment.
  • Hands-on proficiency with one or more of the following: Mark VIe, Mark VI or Mark V control systems; PLCs; or safety systems.
  • Experience installing, commissioning, maintaining and troubleshooting rotating equipment, instrumentation, control logic and auxiliary systems.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more HDGT platforms (Frame 5, 6 or 7E), ADGT platforms (LM2500, LM6000 or LMS100) or Steam Turbines.
  • Strong customer service, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • The ability to work independently, analyze complex issues and provide technical leadership with minimal supervision.
  • A strong Health, Safety and Environmental mindset and commitment to quality standards.
  • Willingness and ability to travel at least 70%, including internationally and offshore, without geographical restrictions, and a current or previous TWIC card or eligibility to obtain one.
  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience mapping DLN (Dry Low NOx) or DLE (Dry Low Emissions) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site control system installation, loop checks, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Validate control sequences and functionality for lube and hydraulic oil systems, starters, cooling, ventilation, Fire & Gas, seal systems, fuel and process valves, and anti-surge systems.
  • Apply engineering documentation and hands-on problem solving to support turbomachinery commissioning, start-up and gas turbine maintenance.
  • Plan and coordinate installation, upgrade and outage scopes, including schedules, skilled labor, site activities and personnel logistics.
  • Provide technical direction while ensuring work meets Baker Hughes Quality, HSE and customer-site requirements.
  • Lead daily HSE toolbox discussions and apply Site Quality Checklists, Job Cards and Field Procedures with proper sign-off.
  • Identify and resolve technical or material non-conformities using Baker Hughes digital tools.
  • Maintain accurate job plans, daily or weekly progress reports, technical reports and marked-up drawings, and communicate status to customers, contractors and internal teams.
