About The Position

Advion is seeking a technically strong, customer-focused Field Service Engineer to support our advanced mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography platforms across North America. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working directly with scientists, and building long-term customer relationships while gaining deep expertise in high-performance analytical systems. You'll be the face of Advion in the field - installing systems, training users, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring our customers achieve maximum performance and uptime.

Requirements

2+ years of field service, technical service, or equivalent hands-on troubleshooting experience
Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills
Comfortable working independently in a customer-facing role
Willingness to travel extensively (approx. 80-90%)
Excellent communication and training ability

Nice To Haves

Experience with analytical instrumentation
Mass spectrometry systems (highly valued)
HPLC or preparative/process LC systems
Vacuum systems, detectors, pumps, electronics
Background in engineering, chemistry, or analytical sciences

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Advion mass spectrometry and chromatography systems
Provide hands-on customer training and technical support on-site
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, vacuum, software, and fluidic issues
Plan and execute service visits with proper tools, parts, and documentation
Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams (engineering, sales, applications)
Support product demos, evaluations, and trade events as needed
Maintain detailed service reports and quality feedback
