About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Field Service Electronics Technician to join their Mobile Product Hospital team. In this role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and test SEL products at customer sites. You will collaborate with other technicians and engineers to identify the root cause of complex issues and build trust with customers. The position involves working in an electronics lab environment and requires up to 75% travel.

Requirements

Two-year electronic engineering technology degree or equivalent.
Strong understanding of analog, digital, and microprocessor-based electronics.
Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
Enjoy working in an electronics lab work environment.
Enjoy solving complex problems alongside your team.
Lift, push, pull and maneuver up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 35 pounds occasionally.
Sit and stand for at least 8 hours.
Vision correctable to 20/30 or better.
Ability to differentiate color.
Use of computer keyboard devices.
Reach, bend, and twist.

Nice To Haves

Two years experience in electronic design, manufacturing, or testing.
Working knowledge of structured programming.
Process improvement experience.

Responsibilities

Test, repair, convert, and troubleshoot problems of high complexity to the component level on SEL products.
Develop and maintain knowledge in SEL processes and products to ensure product quality and integrity.
Provide basic troubleshooting training to junior department personnel.
Partner with other divisions to satisfy the needs of our customers.
