About The Position

We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Engine Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Forest Park, GA. In this role, you will make an impact by completing repairs and rebuilds on engine products in the field, developing productive customer relations, and ensuring prompt and efficient attention to customer needs. You will apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools. You will also assist with completing required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Completing training in line with skill and business requirements and ensuring adherence to all meaningful Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reporting any issues / incidents to their supervisor are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • Field Service Diesel Engine Technician experience
  • Experience in engine repairs
  • Ability to develop productive customer relations
  • Ability to ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer needs
  • Ability to apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance
  • Ability to prepare required parts and tools
  • Ability to complete required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens
  • Willingness to complete training in line with skill and business requirements
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation
  • Ability to use specialized tools
  • Ability to diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer site
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance activities
  • Ability to escalate unresolved issues to product specialists or supervisor
  • Ability to coach and develop technicians and/or apprentices and transfer knowledge and experience to others
  • Ability to provide work direction
  • Ability to review repair plans, parts lists, etc.
  • Ability to identify additional sales and service opportunities with customer
  • Ability to maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and continually develops productive customer relations and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
  • Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer site.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engines and related components in the field.
  • Escalates unresolved issues to product specialists or supervisor.
