About The Position

We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Engine Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Forest Park, GA. In this role, you will make an impact by completing repairs and rebuilds on engine products in the field, developing productive customer relations, and ensuring prompt and efficient attention to customer needs. You will apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools. You will also assist with completing required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Additionally, you will complete training in line with skill and business requirements and ensure adherence to all meaningful Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues/incidents to your supervisor.

Requirements

  • Field Service Diesel Engine Technician specialization
  • Engine repair experience
  • Ability to complete repairs and rebuilds on engine products in the field
  • Ability to develop productive customer relations
  • Ability to ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer needs
  • Ability to apply documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance
  • Ability to prepare required parts and tools
  • Ability to assist with completion of required documentation (work completed, time sheets, warranty claims, quality forms)
  • Ability to complete training in line with skill and business requirements
  • Ability to ensure adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation
  • Ability to report issues/incidents to supervisor
  • Ability to use specialized tools
  • Ability to diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer site
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance activities
  • Ability to escalate unresolved issues
  • Ability to coach and develop technicians and/or apprentices
  • Ability to transfer knowledge and experience to others
  • Ability to review repair plans, parts lists, etc.
  • Ability to maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
  • Ability to report issues/incidents to site management

  • Establishes and continually develops productive customer relations and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
  • Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer site.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engines and related components in the field.
  • Escalates unresolved issues to product specialists or supervisor.
  • Coaches and develops technicians and/or apprentices and transfers knowledge and experience to others; may provide work direction; may review repair plans, parts lists, etc.
  • Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
