About The Position

Custom Truck One Source (CTOS) is seeking a Field Service Technician / Mechanic with expertise in truck-mounted hydraulics, electrical wiring, and diesel equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on CTOS and Custom equipment. You will act as the primary point of contact for customers in your region, diagnosing and resolving issues on-site. While most work is performed at customer locations, occasional shop support may be required. CTOS provides a company-provided utility service truck, company phone, computer, and diagnostic tools to ensure your success.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
5+ years of related experience (field or shop tech)
Valid driver's license (CDL Class B preferred)
Must provide own mechanic tools
Ability to travel 25-50% or more
Proficiency using documentation software and managing time effectively

Nice To Haves

Experience with electrical, hydraulics, welding, and schematic/blueprint reading
Diagnostic software experience (QuickServe, DTNA, etc.)
DOT, ANSI, and dielectric testing experience

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain bucket trucks / aerial devices, digger derricks, truck-mounted cranes (LMI & CAN-bus systems), hydraulic utility equipment & major components, and heavy- and light-duty truck chassis, diesel, and electrical systems.
Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and on-site diagnostics.
Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and repair orders.
Utilize laptops and diagnostic software to identify issues.
Complete documentation accurately, including repair orders, timecards, and inspection forms.
Communicate effectively with customers and CTOS teams to minimize equipment downtime.
Adhere to all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in ongoing CTOS and manufacturer training.
Travel within and occasionally beyond the assigned territory.
