About The Position

Fameccanica North America is seeking an entry-level Field Service Controls Engineer to join its growing team in West Chester, OH. This is an onsite, hands-on role focused on testing, validating, troubleshooting, and supporting automated manufacturing equipment. Initially, the role will concentrate on equipment testing and validation at the West Chester facility, involving repetitive tasks such as following test procedures, troubleshooting issues, documenting results, and ensuring equipment readiness before shipment. As skills advance, the position may evolve to include customer-site support, installation, commissioning, and field service responsibilities. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and learning the intricacies of automated equipment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or related training in Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a similar field.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Interest in PLCs, controls, robotics, automation, or manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong desire to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in automation and field service.
  • Ability to follow processes, complete documentation, and troubleshoot problems.
  • Professional, calm, and customer-focused communication style.
  • Ability to work independently once trained while also being a strong team player.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport.

Responsibilities

  • Test and validate automated equipment, including conveyors, sensors, electrical components, and controls.
  • Follow checklists and test procedures to confirm equipment is operating properly.
  • Troubleshoot basic PLC, HMI, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues.
  • Document testing results, service activity, and technical findings.
  • Support equipment commissioning and customer requirements.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers while learning Fameccanica systems.
  • Eventually support customer sites as responsibilities grow.
