About The Position

BSN SPORTS, a Varsity Brands Company, is the largest team sporting goods equipment and apparel distributor in the United States with over 50 years of experience. Our mission is to save coaches and administrators time by providing excellent service platforms, allowing them more time to impact young lives. This full-time, hybrid role requires the employee to live and travel 2-5 days per week within the assigned territory in Germantown, MD. The position operates in a hybrid environment between a home office, school, community, and event settings. The Field Sales Professional will serve as a consultative partner to various athletic programs, driving full-cycle sales from prospecting to account management. Leveraging CRM tools and data insights, the role focuses on identifying growth opportunities, expanding sales within existing accounts, and building a new business pipeline through in-person engagement and strong relationship management.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a high level of self-direction and autonomy in managing tasks, projects, and responsibilities, ensuring efficient and independent workflow.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are essential, enabling effective interaction with both external clients and internal team members.
  • Proficiently prioritize and manage tasks, demonstrating strong time management skills to meet deadlines and optimize overall efficiency in a dynamic work environment.
  • Intermediate skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and CRM.
  • Cultivate an in-home office environment that is distraction-free.
  • 3+ years' business-to-business (B2B) outside sales experience (preferably in sporting goods) OR coaching/sports-related background.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have and maintain a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Resilience to handle rejection and the persistence to turn challenges into opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best-in-class, consultative customer service to coaches across an assigned territory.
  • Generate revenue and meet sales/growth targets.
  • Actively develop and qualify leads within respective territory to drive additional sales opportunities through cold-calling and lead generation campaigns.
  • Navigate multiple functions within the company’s CRM, including but not limited to prospecting, account management, and activity tracking, to support sales and customer relationship efforts.
  • Increase sales in existing accounts by selling to all sports at all levels.
  • Utilize data-driven business intelligence on prospects to identify new trends and opportunities.
  • Manage your account list and travel on location within your assigned territory.
