About The Position

BSN SPORTS, a Varsity Brands Company, is the largest team sporting goods equipment and apparel distributor in the United States with over 50 years of experience. The Field Sales Professional role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Kansas City, Kansas, operating between a home office and field-based environments. This role is responsible for managing the full sales cycle within an assigned territory, servicing customers, and representing Varsity Brands core values. The position requires a high level of self-direction, excellent communication and organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software. A reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and auto insurance are mandatory.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a high level of self-direction and autonomy in managing tasks, projects, and responsibilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiently prioritize and manage tasks, demonstrating strong time management skills.
  • Intermediate skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and CRM.
  • Cultivate an in-home office environment that is distraction-free.
  • 3+ years' business-to-business (B2B) outside sales experience (preferably in sporting goods) OR coaching/sports-related background.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have and maintain a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Provide best-in-class, consultative customer service to coaches across an assigned territory.
  • Generate revenue and meet sales/growth targets.
  • Actively develop and qualify leads within respective territory to drive additional sales opportunities through cold-calling and lead generation campaigns.
  • Navigate multiple functions within the company’s CRM, including but not limited to prospecting, account management, and activity tracking.
  • Increase sales in existing accounts by selling to all sports at all levels.
  • Utilize data-driven business intelligence on prospects to identify new trends and opportunities.
  • Manage your account list and travel on location within your assigned territory.
