About The Position

With over 50 years of experience, BSN SPORTS employs 3,000 individuals dedicated to supporting the Heart of the Game by providing excellent service platforms that save coaches and administrators valuable time. The company's mission is to free up coaches and administrators to focus on impacting young lives by managing their off-field responsibilities. This full-time, hybrid role requires 2-5 days per week in the assigned territory, which is based in San Diego, California. The position operates in a hybrid environment involving a home office, schools, communities, and events, and requires the employee to reside in or near the territory full-time to manage local client relationships and maximize sales opportunities. Working hours may vary based on customer needs, potentially including evenings and weekends. Travel is primarily local to schools and organizations within the territory, with occasional out-of-the-area and overnight travel expected.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a high level of self-direction and autonomy in managing tasks, projects, and responsibilities, ensuring efficient and independent workflow.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are essential.
  • Proficiently prioritize and manage tasks, demonstrating strong time management skills to meet deadlines and optimize overall efficiency in a dynamic work environment.
  • Intermediate skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and CRM.
  • Cultivate an in-home office environment that is distraction-free.
  • 3+ years' business-to-business (B2B) outside sales experience (preferably in sporting goods) OR coaching/sports-related background.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have and maintain a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize the full cycle sales in your assigned territory and service customers.
  • Represent Varsity Brands by demonstrating company core values and upholding the highest ethical standards in all business activities.
  • Provide best-in-class, consultative customer service to coaches across an assigned territory, aiming to make their lives easier.
  • Generate revenue and meet sales/growth targets.
  • Actively develop and qualify leads within the respective territory through cold-calling and lead generation campaigns to drive additional sales opportunities.
  • Handle rejection with resilience and persistence, turning challenges into opportunities.
  • Navigate multiple functions within the company’s CRM, including prospecting, account management, and activity tracking, to support sales and customer relationship efforts.
  • Increase sales in existing accounts by selling to all sports at all levels.
  • Utilize data-driven business intelligence on prospects to identify new trends and opportunities.
  • Manage your account list and travel on location within your assigned territory.
