About The Position

Quincy Compressor is a leader in the compressed air industry, seeking a Service Sales Engineer to drive sales growth for their service business. This role involves leveraging technical expertise and understanding customer needs to implement effective service sales strategies. The position requires a customer-oriented approach to find suitable value propositions, develop strategic sales territories, and identify new accounts and opportunities. The Service Sales Engineer will stay current on Quincy product offerings, prospect new and drifted accounts, manage quotes, and build relationships with key accounts. Responsibilities also include auditing compressed air systems, presenting results, processing rebates, providing customer training, troubleshooting systems, and achieving sales goals across various Quincy product categories. The role utilizes business tools like Salesforce.com, CPQ (iQ2), and ERP (SAP) for customer information, quoting, and activity recording. Order processing, including PO acquisition, documentation, approvals, and contract review, is also part of the role. The position requires daily travel within the sales territory and occasional domestic travel.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in the compressed air industry or with compressed air systems.
  • Bachelor's degree (desirable) in management, business, administration, marketing, engineering, or other technical specialization. Relevant related experience will be considered.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to understand and prioritize customer needs.
  • Willingness to take calculated risks while analyzing potential pitfalls.
  • Self-motivated and able to lead oneself.
  • Ability to act while coping with varied workloads.
  • Assertive and organized while demonstrating flexibility in daily work.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth for the service business by leveraging technical expertise and understanding of customer needs.
  • Develop a strategic sales territory, new accounts, and opportunities, including call planning.
  • Follow market trends and challenge the status quo, looking for innovative solutions.
  • Guide customers in designing compressed air solutions for their needs and stay current on all Quincy product offerings.
  • Prospect new and drifted accounts to generate revenue.
  • Effectively manage quote log and follow up as needed.
  • Develop relationships with key accounts in the assigned territory.
  • Audit compressed air systems, present results, and work with local utility companies to process rebates for energy savings.
  • Provide training to customers and sub-distribution.
  • Troubleshoot current systems.
  • Achieve Business Plan sales goals in Quincy Business categories including small and large rotaries, reciprocating compressors, accessories, and aftermarket services.
  • Use business tools such as Salesforce.com, CPQ (iQ2), and ERP (SAP) to gather customer information, for quoting, follow-up, and to record activities.
  • Process orders received, maintaining the integrity of the post-sales process by acquiring necessary POs, documentation, approvals, and completing the contract review process.
  • Travel daily in the sales territory and domestically as required.
