About The Position

Flare Construction is seeking a Field Safety Representative to join their team on a long-term civil and energy project in the Las Vegas, Nevada area. This is a field-based, project-assigned role requiring full-time on-site presence. The Field Safety Representative serves as the frontline safety professional embedded with the project crew, partnering directly with field supervision and project leadership to enforce compliance, identify hazards, and reinforce Flare's safety culture throughout all phases of work. Willingness to travel to other project locations as needed is required. Requirements

  • 2-5 years of field construction safety experience; civil, excavation, trenching, or pipeline experience preferred
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • First-Aid/CPR/AED certification required
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards and related safety regulations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with web-based tracking software
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn HCSS construction software
  • Ability to build professional relationships with crew members, supervision, and client project personnel
  • Must be willing to maintain full-time on-site presence in the Las Vegas area and travel to other project locations as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or coursework in Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, or related field
  • Additional safety certifications (CHST, STSC, or equivalent)
  • DOT/PHMSA and DOT/FMCSA regulatory experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain full-time on-site presence at the Las Vegas project location; serve as the primary safety contact for field crews and project leadership throughout all project phases.
  • Monitor site operations for unsafe work practices and intervene proactively; execute Stop Work Authority immediately when a safety violation or unmitigated hazard is present.
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) assessments, partnering with project leadership to anticipate, identify, evaluate, and correct hazardous conditions and practices.
  • Inspect job sites for compliance with OSHA, DOT/PHMSA, DOT/FMCSA, and company/client requirements; document findings and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Perform weekly safety audits using the Quanta Services Capacity Model to support continuous improvement across the project.
  • Train and orient field staff on safety programs, policies, and site-specific requirements; lead and contribute to weekly safety meetings.
  • Collect, maintain, and track safety documentation from field staff using HCSS construction software and electronic record-keeping methods.
  • Assist the Safety Manager with incident prevention, incident reporting, and investigation support.
  • Manage inventory and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); monitor appropriate use across all field personnel.
  • Travel to other Flare project locations as required to provide safety coverage or support.
