About The Position

This assignment provides on-site safety oversight for a mechanical subcontractor supporting a data center construction project in the Columbus, Ohio area. The Field Safety Manager will support active mechanical construction operations and ensure safe work practices are consistently followed across HVAC, underground piping, fall protection, and confined space activities.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of field construction safety experience
• Strong mechanical construction background, underground piping experience required
• OSHA 510 required
• CPR, First Aid, AED certification required
• Fall protection and confined space training required
• Candidates must understand the difference between permit-required and non-permit confined spaces.
• Strong hazard recognition and compliance with OSHA confined space requirements are essential for success in this role.

Nice To Haves

• Data center construction experience is a major plus

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent on-site field presence during active work hours
• Monitor mechanical construction activities for OSHA and site safety compliance
• Identify, communicate, and assist in correcting unsafe conditions or behaviors
• Conduct job hazard analyses, safety orientations, and toolbox talks
• Complete daily safety documentation, inspection reports, and incident reports
• Participate in site safety meetings and coordination efforts
• Support incident prevention initiatives and continuous safety improvement
