About The Position

The Field Safety Manager I will be responsible for implementing OSHA regulations, project-specific policies, and other applicable standards. This role involves managing investigations, audits, training, and ensuring compliance with company safety efforts. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating safety risks, working closely with management and corporate safety teams to resolve issues and improve safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Implement OSHA 1926 and 1910 regulations, Project Specific Fab Shop Policies and procedures, and other applicable standards.
Manage root cause investigations, site audits, new hire orientations, and regulatory training.
Assist in the development and implementation of guidelines, policies, and procedures consistent with company efforts.
Maintain awareness of pending legislation and regulatory mandates, develop compliance alternatives, and communicate issues through the Corporate Safety Support Team.
Work with Management regarding regulatory complaints and resolve complaints with legal and regulatory agencies.
Assist in record keeping decisions regarding incident reporting and recordability, with guidance from the Corporate Safety Support Staff.
Review and monitor current Safety and Health Policies and Procedures for usability and appropriateness in field applications, recommending improvements.
Initiate and monitor procedures for routine assessments and follow up with the Management Team regarding corrective actions.
Provide input on effective training approaches for specific field site locations and divisional needs, involving Project Line Management.
Ensure training completions are documented and available for assessment and action.
Cooperate with supporting timely and accurate field reporting deliverables to the Corporate Safety Support Manager.
Cooperate with supporting timely and accurate field reporting of Worker’s Compensation related issues.
Review standard reports for trends and make recommendations based on the data.
Stay abreast of the application and proper use of the company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy, involving Project Line Management in decision-making.
Coordinate and assist in safety evaluations as necessary.
Interface, provide guidance, and direct Safety Facilitator(s) and related areas.
Review all accident investigations and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Provide leadership in safety incentive processes.
Review and assist in the site fire protection process.
Review and assist in the site emergency evacuation plan.
Support management with safety meetings.
Maintain an active and visible role in the site safety process, serving as a focal point for safety process revisions and enhancements.
Support the safety audit program and track deficiencies to completion.
Take necessary action to provide required resources for the Safety Facilitator(s).
Assist in defining safety processes and eliminating waste.
Listen to employee concerns regarding safety & health and take appropriate action.
