About The Position

Under the supervision of the Safety Director, regularly conducts job site safety inspections. Identifies, reports, and resolves hazardous or potentially hazardous situations on active projects. Requirements

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
  • Minimum of 8 years in the Electrical Trade.
  • Strong Knowledge of the NEC.
  • OSHA 10hr or 30hr Card (OSHA 30hr Card Preferred).
  • Knowledge of construction safety with knowledge of general industry safety practices.
  • Awareness of applicable federal, state and local regulations for the construction industry.
  • Ability to recognize hazards and recommend corrective action.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Valid passenger driver’s license.
  • Working 40 hours/week, scheduled in 8 hour shifts.
  • Sitting 6 to 8 hours/day.
  • Lifting weights of 0 to 30 lbs. from floor to above shoulders.
  • Walk approximately 5 miles per day – outside in heat or cold
  • Climb 20 flights of stairs each day – outside in heat or cold
  • Repetitive use of hands for writing, typing, data entry, and filing.
  • Vision adequate for computer use and reading.
  • Hearing adequate for phone use.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, protected-toe boots, and appropriate gloves for the task.
  • Other equipment on an "as needed" basis may include fall protection, dust mask, respirator, hearing protection.
  • Ability to visit construction jobsites including walking on uneven terrain, occasionally climbing, stooping, squatting and exposure to temperature extremes and the “elements”.

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid, CPR, AED Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with all Tri-M and customer safety policies and procedures
  • Complies with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures and meets company standards of conduct and appearance
  • Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and audits to verify compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, customer requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Identify, document, communicate, and recommend corrective actions for hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions and unsafe work practices. Follow through to ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Serve as a visible field safety resource by coaching employees, supervisors, and project teams on safe work practices, hazard recognition, and risk reduction strategies.
  • Participate in incident and near-miss investigations by collecting facts, documenting findings, identifying contributing factors, and recommending preventive measures.
  • Review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), tailboards, work plans, shutdown procedures, permits, and other safety documentation to verify accuracy, completeness, and effectiveness.
  • Conduct field audits and safety observations, document findings, track trends, and provide timely reports to operations and the Safety Department.
  • Participate in customer and site safety meetings, representing the company in a professional manner while supporting project safety expectations.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of safety training, toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, and other safety initiatives.
  • Support the inspection, testing, and compliance requirements for personal protective equipment, safety equipment, and electrical protective devices, as applicable.
  • Promote employee engagement in safety programs, hazard reporting, safety observations, and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, audit reports, corrective action logs, and incident documentation in accordance with company requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with life-saving rules, energy control procedures, fall protection requirements, confined space entry procedures, and other critical risk controls.
  • Travel to active jobsites and project locations to conduct inspections, audits, investigations, coaching, and safety support activities.
  • Serve as a culture-keeper and promotor for Tri-M aligned with the people-first vision of the company
